PARALEGAL STUDENT PLACEMENTS

Our paralegal student placement program is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited Ontario college paralegal program. This placement provides the practical, hands-on experience needed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the courtroom, immersing you in the daily operations of a busy paralegal firm.

Under the direct mentorship of our principal paralegal, you will actively participate in the legal process from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • File Management: Learning to open, organize, and manage client files, including tracking deadlines and limitation periods.

  • Document Drafting: Preparing legal documents for Small Claims Court, the Landlord and Tenant Board, and Provincial Offences matters.

  • Legal Research: Conducting research on specific legal issues, case law, and legislation to support case strategy.

  • Client Communication: Assisting with client intake, gathering information, and providing professional case updates.

  • Procedural Tasks: Gaining experience in filing documents with courts and tribunals, both electronically and in person.

LAW STUDENT (JD) REMOTE CLERK POSITION

Our remote clerk program offers JD students a flexible opportunity to gain substantive legal experience while supporting our legal team. This program is ideal for self-motivated students looking to develop practical skills in legal research, writing, and file analysis from any location.

As a remote clerk, you will work closely with our licensed paralegals on a variety of files, contributing directly to client success.

Your key tasks will involve:

  • Legal Research & Memos: Conducting in-depth legal research on complex points of law and procedure, and drafting clear, concise memoranda outlining your findings.

  • Drafting & Review: Assisting in drafting a range of documents, including pleadings, submissions, and client correspondence.

  • Case Analysis: Reviewing and summarizing evidence, disclosure, and tribunal decisions to identify key issues and support case development.

  • Litigation Support: Providing remote administrative and clerical support to ensure our files are well-organized and move forward efficiently, including assistance with preparation for trial. 

This role is designed to sharpen your analytical abilities and provide practical insight into the areas of law permitted for paralegal practice in Ontario.
